3:05 How do you suggest that busy professionals get started? The first thing to think about is what do you have as the vision for your life and what are you passionate about?

Starting your own business is 85-90% sales and marketing and operations and management and not doing that thing that you love.

4:44 What if we really love our full-time job and just want to turn our hobby into a side business?

“I advise everyone to start their business as a side hustle.”

“In my book, I talk about how every family should have a $100,000 side business as the protection for their family and as a shield from employers that shut down.”

6:00 How do you get started in a side business?  “Just start doing it, reserve an hour in the morning or your lunch hour every day or an hour at night.”

“One of the biggest things that is really make or break to turn a dream into a reality is having a set schedule.”

7:40 Overwhelm creeps in and can keep you stuck.  It happens to everyone at some point.  Overwhelm stems from disorganization. Organization is at the root of making progress.  Have a set schedule so you are planning out your work and working your plan and sticking to your plan then you will make progress.

9:15 How do you know it’s time to make the leap and turn the business into a full-time venture?

“I always lean on the side of taking longer, saving more, getting your debt paid off, and getting help and getting all of your ducks in a row before you make the big leap.”

12:10 It depends on how far you want to go with the business and how much you want to grow it.

“It’s really important not to compare and to only assess the life you want to create and the hours you want to work and how much income is required to support that so you are truly making the right decision for you. Because no two people are going to have the same wants and needs that are actually going to make them happy.”

13:22 “It is as easy as knowing your focus but know it’s the hardest thing ever. We want to do a thousand different things and we want to do them all now and a lot of the stuff that are fun and sexy to work on are not the stuff that are going to make us money in our business.”

“On an index card write down the 10 things that you are going to consistently do to grow your business and carry it around with you.”

15:15 ‘5 Questions segment.’

15:25 Morning routine. Starts the night before with 8 hours of sleep, the next morning meditation first, lots of water, exercise, personal development and then I jump right in!

16:50 Definitions of Success and Happiness

“Success is really having your heart of hearts on the inside be reflected on how you are living your life on the outside, being in alignment.” “Don’t compare or compete.”

“Happiness is putting my family first and building a business where I can make a meaningful difference in the world.”

18:10 What do you know that I wish I knew 10 years ago.

“I wish I would have started my business sooner and to be patient and be kind.  I’m very hard on myself and have high expectations of.  I would tell myself to slow down, take a deep breath it’s all going to be ok. It all comes together in perfect harmony exactly how it’s supposed to.”

19:36 Dilution is the biggest challenge of entrepreneurs today, they are trying to do too much and are spread too thin.  Keep simplifying your focus so you can do really well mastering a couple of key things to help in getting you where you are to where you want to be.
