Beyond The Stethoscope

May 26, 2020

In this episode, I talk with Tabitha Bartley on how to maintain a resilient mindset during challenging times.

Favorite quotes of the episode: “Nobody can tell you what you can or can’t do, that’s up to you.”

Key to a resilient mindset? “Allowing yourself to feel all of the emotions. You don’t need to ignore them, but we don’t need to dwell on them either.”

“I love organized chaos and thrive on stress, but it’s important to know your limits and ask for support when you need it.”

5 Questions Segment

Q1. We know that the most successful and happy people have a morning routine, what do you do each morning or evening that sets your day up for success?  My morning commute is where I get ready for the day, listen to my favorite music, or have time to myself to think.

Q2. What's your definition of Success? It’s personal to me. It’s not someone else’s definition. It’s about doing good, making an impact, and feeling that I’m meeting that purpose in life.

Q3. What's your definition of Happiness? Being able to be your authentic self, once you figure out who that is. Once I figured that out, I was getting more done without feeling burnt out because I was able to be myself.

Q4. What do you know now that you wish you would have known 10 years ago? Listen to your gut more to know who you are.

Q5. What do you think is the biggest issue facing busy professionals today? Work-Life Balance. If you are going to take time, then take the time. Put your phone down completely and spend time with your family. Completely be in the moment.
